Three teams from the UPLB Industrial Engineering Department participated in various competitions and emerged victorious during day 1 of IEshikawa 17, hosted by the UP Circle of Industrial Engineering Majors (CIEM) last February 24, 2023, in UP Diliman.
Exuding calm and consistent excellence were the members of the UPLB IE Quiz Team (Lester Caspe, Carl Cuento, Migs Lapitan, & Paolo Guiao; coached by Asst. Prof. Angelo Ani) who were hailed as CHAMPIONS in the IExcel: Quiz Bee Competition.
Taking big risks and EMERGING ON TOP was Team UPLBhIE (Goms Fonacier, Czar Kinkito, AJ Mendoza, & Dar Satparam; coached by Engr. Alan Mercado & Engr. Kenneth Punongbayan) as they took on the supply chain challenges in the IExplore: Case Study Competition.
Finally, Team UPLB (Vince Aligui, Mark Fabreag, Man Opeña, & Moses San Pascual; coached by Engr. GJ de Leon) successfully showed innovative grace under pressure as they RANKED FIRST after going head to head with other teams during the IEnnovate: Design Sprint Hackathon.
